![]() Here are photos of my prototype along with snapshots of the scene and one pointing out the distinct 3 blue pills. I believe I will reprint the pills in properly dyed resin for a more uniform look. ![]() I sanded, clear coated, then bushed on red/blue alcohol ink, and then cleared again. The clearance is just enough that the pills don't touch the lid when pressing it closed, but can't fall out of their recesses either so they stay in place.Įverything was printed in translucent resin as that's what I already had in my vat. One of them is for two pills, and the other is for 6 which I now believe is what the set prop had. ![]() I ordered a few of these pill cases and once they arrived, took measurements and modeled the pills and then made two inserts for the case. Based off this info, I realized I needed to make my own lol. On top of that, we never hear the pills rattle around in the movie yet all the ones I found to buy, had the pills laying around loosely, so even if they just edited the rattling out in post, within the movie it was perceived that the pills were in fact held in place to some extent. I recorded the scene, went frame by frame, took snapshots, enlarged, and then tried running it through an AI Upscaling program (which didn't improve it much honestly), but gave enough evidence backing up what I perceived. After doing some research and searching around, I found a few good options, however, during my research of the scene, Morpheus' pill case seems to have not two pills.but SIX in it. Just because two things sound like the shouldn’t go together doesn’t mean they won’t.Hello everyone! With tidbits of The Matrix 4 popping up everywhere, I decided to add a set of the pills to my collection between paint drying sessions on other projects. It can be used to show, sometimes to the point of exaggeration, that someone or something possesses all of the listed qualities in the meme. It is similar to the Double/Triple Soda Pour meme templates. He slowly grabs the water glass from the table and drinks it. what Im offering is the truth, nothing more. Neo is reflected on both, his hand over the red pill. Why not have it both ways? Sometimes in life there are package deals. The red pill is reflected on one lens of Morpheus sunglasses, the blue is reflected on the other. Sometimes, both sides of an offer sound good. Crypto traders found this template a good way to illustrate the madman tendencies of a trader. It is particularly popular with Dungeons and Dragons and other role playing game players. Morpheus then gives him a choice between two pills, one red and one blue, that carry drastically different side effects. Many of the remixes were spawned by Reddit groups for these niche interest groups. In the scene, The Matrix 's main character Neo, played by John Wick 's legendary Keanu Reeves, approaches an all-knowing man named Morpheus to gain some insight into the world around him. Through various Reddit boards, the meme template also found love from gamers and crypto traders. The other is from r/ProgrammerHumor user u/ManagerOfLove. One is a meme about karens posted to r/memes by u/Charming-Macaron-322. The original poster is uncertain but it has been narrowed to two threads. The meme exploded in popularity on Reddit on July 5, 2022. Here is an example of a possible precursor from a Reddit thread in 2018: ![]() ![]() It has been part of other templates, as noted. The concept of breaking the choice seems to also have been around for quite some time. Despite the oldschool appearance of the template, it began to see use in July 2022. However, this meme has nothing to do directly with this. Newgrounds was home to numerous fan-made flash tributes to the film and it is also the home of the Clock Crew and many other influential internet things. It is rumored that Matrix memes began on, where the movie had a big following. The red and blue pill is a philosophical dilemma which has been a part of the online consciousness for decades. The subject (Neo) takes both or in some cases neither pill for comedic effect. It is a three panel image made from stills from the movie scene. It is not to be confused with “Oh Shit I Took Both Pills” template which emerged in 2021. It is not the first meme to come from this scene or the pill choice concept. The red pill represents truth and the blue pill represents comfortable ignorance, thus the internet expression “redpilled” to describe someone’s awareness or perspective. “Did you just take both pills?” refers to a 2022 meme template based on a scene in the movie “The Matrix” in which Morpheus offers Neo the choice between the red and blue pills. ![]()
